One person is now dead and another person was injured following a large fire that broke out in downtown Gatlinburg on Sunday.

 

The fire is said to have taken place at the 700 Block of Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg at around 6:30 AM.

 

Crews discovered one dead body as they worked to suppress the flames. The identity of that person has not been released at this time.

 

Additionally, one firefighter was transported to the hospital with minor injuries from the fire. We are told that they have since been released.
