An update from the Pikeville Police Department:

 

The Pikeville Police Department will be conducting periodic traffic safety checkpoints at locations approved by the Pikeville City Police Department Policy and Procedures Manual. 

 

These checkpoints will be conducted in an effort to enforce the traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Special attention will be paid to occupant protection (seatbelt adherence), sobriety, insurance, and registration violations.  These safety checkpoints will be conducted at one or more of the following locations:

 

– Island Creek Road near The Asthma and Allergy Center and entrance to Marion’s Branch

 

– Chloe Road near the entrance to Pikeville Elementary

 

– Town Mountain Road and US 119 intersection

 

– Cedar Creek Road and Cedar Hills intersection
