An update from the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office:

On October 11th, 2022 the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search of a residence on Forge Ridge Road in the Harrogate Community of Claiborne County. 

An investigation by the Narcotics Division resulted in five arrests and the seizure of a quantity of illegal narcotics and currency. Detectives recovered several different types of narcotics including Heroin and prescription medication. Those arrested during the investigation include James C. Short (24) of Harrogate, TN for Possession of Schedule I for Resale (Heroin), Possession of Schedule II, IV, V and Maintaining a Dwelling where Drugs are sold or kept. Rochelle Abner (38) Pineville, KY Possession of Schedule I for Resale (Heroin). Jay J. Lowe (49) Rose Hill, VA Possession of Schedule I for Resale (Heroin). Misty D. Seals (38) Ewing, VA Failure to Appear. Rocky Howerton (41) Middlesboro, KY Capias/Bench Warrant.
