
An update from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department:
Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Drew Wilson along with shift Sgt. John Inman and Detective Taylor McDaniel arrested Dustin Wayne Valentine age 38 of London early Tuesday morning November 1, 2022 at approximately 1:05 AM. The arrest occurred in a business parking lot in the city limits of London off South US 25 after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint at apartments off KY 229 in London.
While enroute to the scene deputies observed a blue Nissan Armada leaving the apartments at a high rate of speed. The vehicle traveled across Ky 229 to Commercial Drive accelerating after deputies activated their emergency equipment signaling for the vehicle to stop. The vehicle failed to stop and was observed driving 50 mph over the speed limit and observed running off the road striking a bush on the side of the roadway causing damage to the vehicle. The vehicle then recklessly turned onto US 25 and finally stopped in a business parking lot off US 25. The driver exited the vehicle creating a disturbance and cursing deputies failing to obey their verbal commands. Finally, the suspect complied and was taken into custody where deputies noted detecting the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the driver.
The driver was found in possession of pills and was determined to be driving on a DUI suspended license and operating a vehicle not his own. It was also determined that this individual had allegedly assaulted a female subject at the apartments off KY 229. Dustin Wayne Valentine continued to curse deputies and continued to create a disturbance while being transported and upon being lodged at the detention center.
Dustin Wayne Valentine was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle; reckless driving; speeding more than 26 mph over the speed limit; menacing; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited; possession of a controlled substance – second-degree; driving on DUI suspended license – first offense; assault – 4th degree; leaving the scene of an accident; criminal mischief – first-degree; unauthorized use of a motor vehicle – first offense; prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense.
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County correctional center.
