Man from Laurel County Facing Federal Charges after Allegedly Robbing Bank

A man out of Laurel County is now facing federal charges after being accused of robbing a bank earlier this year.

35-year-old Shawn Fox, of Corbin was indicted by a grand jury in late October.

According to police, Fox entered the North Corbin branch of Community Trust Bank on September 27th . He was armed with a pistol and demanded money.

The indictment states that he took $5,300 when he left the bank and drove off in a Honda Civic. He then switched over to a Ford pickup truck. He was then arrested in Knox County.

He is currently held in the Laurel County Correctional Center. However, he is being placed in custody under a U.S. marshal. The marshal will transport Fox on November 21st to federal court in London.

He currently faces robbery charges and there is no report if those charges will change in federal court.
