An update from the Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office:

 

Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office participated in a “buy/bust” operation along with the 29th Circuit Narcotics Task Force over a span of approximately three months.  

 

The task force is comprised of the VSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Wytheville Field Office, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office, and Grundy Police Department.  The “buy/bust” operation was executed after investigative efforts by the task force lead to the trafficking of illegal drugs into Dickenson County from Indianapolis, Indiana.  The subject was delivering $11,500.00 (wholesale value) in various illegal drugs to a distributor in Dickenson County every two weeks.   

 

The operations resulted in the arrest of the subject from Indiana and seizure of crystal meth, other illegal narcotics, and firearms.  The total street value of the seized drugs was $50,020.  The firearms seized included a Glock 17 converted to fully automatic and a Ruger .308 rifle.
