A woman from McCreary County now has to spend seven years behind bars following an incident that happened in Whitley County.

Back in April, Williamsburg Police responded to a theft call at the Williamsburg Walmart.

Officers discovered in their investigation that 33 year old Shala Gregory of Strunk, had stolen over $500 worth of merchandise after she was told by staff to leave the store.

According to officials, Gregory used an ID that belonged to one of her family members, in order to avoid being arrested on warrants placed on her.

Gregory was found guilty on burglary and identity theft charges.
