On January 1st, changes to the sales tax in Kentucky will go into effect for over 30 services, including utilities.
Some utility companies have made an effort to inform the public of these changes with the intention of preventing those who qualify for an exemption from paying those taxes when they shouldn’t be.
An exemption form (pdf. below) from the Kentucky Department of Revenue prevents primary residences from receiving the tax.
The deadline to return the form is December 15th, 2022.
