Kentucky State Police is reminding Kentuckians to take the proper precautions when driving in adverse weather conditions as a winter weather event could impact the Eastern Kentucky region.

Officials are asking to make sure everyone in the vehicles is properly restrained. They provided tips such as: dress warmly and keep a blanket in the vehicle, charge your cell phone before leaving home, make sure the windows and lights are clear and fill your tank in case you get stranded. 

Also, it’s recommended to reduce your speed and to leave earlier than usual in case of travel delays.
