George H. Van Hoose, age 86 of Flat Gap, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard, Kentucky.

Born May 23, 1936 in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Curtis Van Hoose and Mary Elizabeth Taylor and step father, Proctor Conley.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Van Hoose Family Cemetery at Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 11:00am to 2:00pm Saturday prior to the service. Jim McKenzie and Hobert Meek will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
