Laurel County Woman Wanted For Murder Arrested

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that they have arrested fugitive Danielle Kelly on a Murder Indictment Warrant and 3 counts of first degree assault.

The arrest comes after an investigation conducted by Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Mink after information concerning her whereabouts had developed. The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, London City Police and Kentucky State Police collaborated in the search.

Kelly was indicted on charges of 1 count of murder and 3 counts of first degree assault  on November 18th, 2022 by a Laurel County grand jury.

Kelly was indicted with these charges following an incident where Kelly crashed into two other vehicles while she was driving on US 25 in September of 2021. The crash result in the death of one of the passengers in her vehicle, 44 year old Tiffany Smith of London, and the other passenger injured. Two People in a Chevy Tahoe were also injured.

Kelly was under the influence of illegal narcotics during the incident. She was ordered to appear in court but she failed to appear. She is now placed in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
