A man out of Knott County is now behind bars- over two months after officials initially indicted him on federal drug charges.
40-year-old Terry Lee Slone, of Hindman, was arrested earlier in the month following an incident with a state trooper. During that incident, Slone allegedly ran from the trooper, who was attempting to serve him with a warrant. That officer discovered Slone to be in possession of two firearms in spite of his previous felony conviction.
He received charges of fleeing police and two-counts of felon in possession of a firearm.
Slone was indicted alongside two other men in November of last year. Charges included conspiracy to distribute meth, possession with the intent to distribute, and felon in possession of a firearm.
Each drug charge carries a potential 20-year prison sentence, with the gun charge carrying a potential 15-year-sentence.
Slone is scheduled to appear in District Court on February 6th for arraignment.
