Williamsburg Woman Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Meth Trafficking

A Williamsburg woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for her involvement in two drug trafficking cases.

34-year-old Cara Lawson of Forest Avenue was sentenced 20 years in prison after being convicted in Whitley Circuit Court on two counts of meth trafficking, one count of fentanyl trafficking and one count of promoting contraband.

Lawson was one of six defendants that were involved in two separate drug trafficking investigations. She possessed thirty grams of meth in one case and was caught with over 300 grams of meth, with a small quantity of fentanyl in the other case.

These cases were prosecuted by the Whitey County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. The other five defendants are awaiting trial.
