School Districts throughout the region dismissed school today due to severe weather and rising water.

Floyd County Schools, Magoffin County Schools and several other school boards decided to dismiss students due to rising water caused by severe thunderstorms that started earlier in the day, with rainfall expected to continue throughout the night.

We advise everyone to stay off the roads if possible. If you have to travel, please take caution as the roads will be extremely slick and to look out for any road closings.
