A man from Whitley County has been charged for his involvement in the death of a 3-year-old child.

The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office contacted Kentucky State Police Sunday evening for assistance in a death investigation in the Woodbine area of Whitley County.

According to investigators, Whitley County EMS was called by someone who said a child was unresponsive. EMS arrived on the scene and transported the child to Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The child’s body was sent for an autopsy at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.

22 year old Jordan Blake Taylor of Woodbine was arrested and charged with murder. Taylor was placed in the Whitley County Detention Center.

The case is currently under investigation.
