
Two parents were arrested over the weekend after law enforcement found the parents with their children in a residence with alleged fentanyl and a registered sex offender.
According to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, deputies with the department and Kentucky State Police responded to a call concerning an overdose at a residence located in Corbin.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they conducted an investigation and found three small children under the age of 3 at the residence. At the residence with the children, was a sufficient amount of what is believed to be fentanyl, a registered sex offender and the parents of the three kids.
The overdose victim was sent to the Baptist Health hospital for treatment. Their condition is unknown.
24 year old Matthew Dean and 23 year old Shandra Dean were both arrested and charged with 2nd degree criminal abuse and Endangering the Welfare of a minor.
