The Perry County Fiscal Court announced that it has obtained property located by East Perry Elementary School that will be developed into a state-of-art Sports Complex.

The project will include six baseball fields that meet size requirements for minor league, little league, softball and high school, three football fields which will also serve as soccer fields, a track for track and field, six tennis courts, two basketball courts, two playgrounds and a sensory playground, a batting cage, putt-putt golf, picnic shelters and a parking lot.

Construction will be in phases as funding allows. Perry County plans on hosting large tournaments when the complex is built.

Those with the Perry County Fiscal Court believe it will draw tourists from all over the state.
