The Whitley County Dispatch responded to a call Yesterday concerning a body that was found on Elk Creek, behind the save-a-lot on US 25 W.

Those with Whitley County Dispatch responded to a call from the Jellico Police Department. When Whitley County Deputies arrived on the scene, they located the body in the water with assistance from Jellico and Williamsburg police.

An investigation into the case led officials to identify the victim as 37 year old Anna M Whitehead of Williamsburg. Whitehead’s body was sent for an autopsy at the State Medical Examiners Office. The case remains under investigation.
