ARH Paintsville Wound Healing Center Recognized for Clinical Excellence in Patient Satisfaction and Wound Healing Rates

Paintsville, KY Appalachian Regional Healthcare Paintsville Hospital physicians, leaders, and clinicians gathered today to recognize ARH Paintsville Wound Healing Center, a recipient of the Center of Distinction award by Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including a patient satisfaction rate higher than 92 percent.

ARH Paintsville Hospital Chief Executive Officer Kathy Stumbo says, “We’re extremely excited to have the excellent care provided by the ARH Paintsville Wound Healing Center recognized for the third consecutive year. Diabetes, cardiovascular disease and other disease processes that result in chronic wounds have a high prevalence rate in eastern Kentucky. This service improves the quality and quantity of life for many patients and we’re proud of the excellent care provided by the center.”

The ARH Paintsville Wound Healing Center is a member of the Healogics network of over 600 Wound Care Centers® and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.

Advanced wound care modalities provided by our wound care experts include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, and growth factor therapies. The Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.

ARH Paintsville Wound Healing Center Director Charles Hardin, MD, praised his staff saying receiving another award is a testament to the outstanding care provided at the wound center. He continued, “I am so proud of our team of dedicated professionals for its recent designation as a Center of Distinction and recipient of the Healogics Mid America West Region Highest Comprehensive Healing Rate.”

The Wound Healing Center serves patients from the region including Floyd, Johnson, Knott, Lawrence, Magoffin, Martin, and Pike Counties in Kentucky and nearby counties in West Virginia.
