A Floyd County man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stealing a trailer that’s owned by the Floyd County Board of Education. 

According to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Marty Hamilton of David was arrested in connection to the theft after an investigation into the incident. The sheriff’s office opened the investigation after the Betsy Layne School Administration reported to police that one of their trailers was stolen.

In the investigation, deputies analyzed footage from the school’s new camera system and gathered evidence from the footage that was captured. The investigation resulted in the identification of a suspect.

Marty Hamilton was arrested without incident. The stolen property was recovered.
