A Johnson County man was seriously injured over the weekend following a single-vehicle accident that occurred on US 23.
W.R. Castle Fire-Rescue responded to a call Saturday night that they received from an automated collision detection service with Toyota. When emergency crews arrived on the scene, they found the crash in a creek near RT. 3224.
Firefighters on the scene used rope and stabilization struts to immobilize the overturned vehicle in the creek and removed the driver. The driver was taken to Paintsville ARH by Paintsville EMS for serious injuries. The driver was then transported to Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police are handling the investigation.
