Stanton Conneil Grass, age 69 of West Van Lear, Kentucky passed away Friday, July 7, 2023 at his home.

Born May 10, 1954 in Pike County, he was the son of the late Charles Grass and Laura (Fleming) Grass. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Jacob Grass, Jr, Cas Grass, Stevie Grass and Jerry Grass. Conneil is survived by his wife, Marilyn Arms Grass; one son, Jonathan (Jennifer) Grass of Auxier, Kentucky; two daughters, Christie Puckett of West Van Lear, Kentucky and Lisa Grass of Van Lear, Kentucky; one brother, Mike (Carrie) Grass of West Liberty, Kentucky; adopted brother, Eric Grass (Shala Childers) of Paintsville, Kentucky; two sisters, Sharon (Charlie) Barron of Paintsville and Sharla (Bobby) Spencer of Van Lear, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Zack Puckett, Brandon Grass, Jonathan Grass and Jaxson Grass. A host of family and friends also survive.

He was a mechanic for Crace’s Wrecker Service for many years.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church with Paul Wayne Browning officiating. Burial will follow in the Grass Family Cemetery at Van Lear. Friends may visit the church from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Sunday, 9:00am to 9:00pm Monday and until the time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that Memorial Contributions be made to the Phelps & Son Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
