Kentucky State Police Release:

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (July 12, 2023) – The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post began investigating the murder of Amber Spradlin on June 18, 2023. After being transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office it was confirmed Spradlin had suffered multiple stab wounds. During the course of the investigation, detectives have interviewed several members of the community and executed numerous search warrants for residences, electronic devices, and physical evidence. Physical evidence including DNA evidence has been submitted to the KSP Laboratory and we are currently awaiting those results.

Since the investigation began, detectives have received numerous tips from the community regarding the investigation. To ensure the investigation is as thorough as possible, detectives must investigate every tip or piece of information they receive. This has resulted in countless hours of investigating tips that were hearsay or otherwise false.
