Kentucky State Police Update:

Dema, Ky (July 26, 2023) – On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at approximately 4:45 P.M, Kentucky State Police, Post 13, Hazard, received a 911 call in reference to an ATV accident with injuries on Old House Branch Rd, in the Dema community of Knott County.

Troopers, along with medical personnel responded to the scene. Initial investigation indicates that Diamont G. Caudill, 16, of Dema, was occupying an ATV that was being towed by another ATV. The vehicle lost control and overturned, ejecting Caudill from the ATV. Caudill was transported to Mcdowell A.R.H, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Caudill was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office for Autopsy. No helmet was in use at the time of collision. This incident remains under investigation by Trooper Jody Sims.
