A man from Knott County has been sentenced to serve 12 ½ years in prison following being convicted on federal drug and gun charges after he represented himself in trial.
37 year old Michael Nolan Slone of Mousie was found guilty on several charges such as the possession of more than 50 grams of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime, possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number and possessing a firearm while being a convicted felon.
In March of 2021, a state trooper found Slone passed out inside of his vehicle while parked at a gas station in the City of Hindman. Slone was arrested and the trooper found two guns and over 100 grams of meth.
