A Floyd County man who was being arrested on a warrant found himself in more trouble for allegedly assaulting a deputy and a police dog. Deputies went to the home of Jacob Estep, 25, of David, to serve him with the warrant.

When they pulled up to his house, they saw him run into the home’s basement. The officers followed him into the basement and cornered him, but reported that he refused repeated commands to show his hands. The police report says that Estep then allegedly hit K-9 Bear in the face twice, then punched a deputy. Bear then bit Estep’s arm and the officers gave him two rounds with a taser to bring him under control.

After he was handcuffed, the deputies found six Suboxone in his pocket. He was arrested for assaulting a police officer, assaulting a service animal, fleeing police and other charges.
