A Loyall man is facing multiple charges after he reportedly kicked an officer and reached for his firearm during an arrest. On March 24, Harlan County Sheriff deputies were called out to the home about a reported verbal domestic dispute. According to the arrest citation, witnesses told police that Christopher Blanton, 20, had been “doing dope and was out of his mind.” Officers noticed a glass-smoking pipe with unknown residue inside of it. During the investigation, police learned Blanton had an active warrant. Blanton is facing charges of resisting arrest, third-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, disarming a peace officer (attempt) and drug paraphernalia.
He was taken to the Harlan County Detention Center.
