One person has been taken into custody after a shots-fired incident in Mingo County yesterday afternoon, according to West Virginia State Police. Troopers tell us they received a call about gunshots being fired near a home on Ben Creek in the Wharncliffe area of Mingo County.
When they got to the home, troopers say they encountered a person who took off running.
Troopers were able to catch the person and take them into custody. Mingo County Schools were on a precautionary lockdown, but school officials say they have since been given the all-clear by 9-1-1 dispatchers.
