Ashland Police Department is facing criticism over Facebook post. According to WSAZ, the Ashland Police Department wrote a post Wednesday night for anyone having purchased heroin recently in Kentucky, West Virgina, or Ohio to contact local police or sheriff’s departments for “free” screening to make sure it wasn’t contaminated with the Zika virus. The police department later posted that the original post was not meant to be humorous, only a tactic that has been used for years and across the country to deter drug use among addicts and their families. They have since deleted both posts.
