A Perry County fire has left one family without a home. From WYMT, the home on Maces Creek belonging to Freddie Childers and his family was engulfed in flames Tuesday, with firefighters considering the home a total loss. Viper Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief J.C. Amburgey said house may have been saved had the fire hydrant been turned on. The firefighters had to wait almost 30 minutes before someone arrived to turn the hydrant on. The family was able to recover some clothes and photo albums, but Childers wants to know why the water was turned off.
