An update from the City of London Police Department:

A London man was arrested Monday for failure to comply with the sex offender registration and outstanding traffic warrants.

London Police learned that Christopher A. Hughes, 49, of DAV Lane, London, was listed in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) for failure to register as a sex offender.

Officers with the LPD and Laurel County Sheriff’s Department went to his residence at 12:33 p.m. Hughes at first refused to answer the door. Officers were finally able to call Hughes out of the residence and place him under arrest without incident.

Besides failure to register as a sex offender, Hughes was arrested on outstanding warrants for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, license to be in possession and failure to wear seat belts.
