In Floyd County, a school bus carrying over 20 children hit a deer in Ivel yesterday around 5pm on US 23. No one was injured in the collision. The deer ran onto the roadway and struck the front end of the bus on the driver’s side. 22 children were on board coming back from a basketball event in Pikeville and traveling back North to Prestonsburg. There was damage to the bus but the driver and all 22 children were fine afterwards.
