Reds and Pirates make up last week’s game tonight in Pittsburgh

After rain forced last Tuesday’s series finale for the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates to a later date, the teams will make it up tonight at 7:05pm in Pittsburgh. Johnny Cueto was set to start that game, but the team have decided to give the Reds ace a break tonight. Right-hander Josh Smith will start in his place, making his Major League debut. As for the Pirates, south paw Jeff Locke will get the start. Locke is 4-3 this season with a 4.74 ERA. Smith was called up from the minors with 13 starts this season with Louisville, Double-A Pensacola, and Class A Dayton. He went 4-4 with a 3.04 ERA. Cincinnati takes on Pittsburgh tonight at 7:05pm at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.
