Dwayne Wade Decides Not To Pick Up Miami Option

Dwayne Wade has played his entire NBA career with the Miami Heat, but his days in South Beach could be coming to an end. The All-Star and Three-Time NBA Champion decided yesterday not to pick up his option with the team and will become a free-agent tomorrow. The former Marquette star was scheduled to make $16.1 million next season. The Heat and Wade have been at a crossroads concerning his contract and the 33 year old has left around 27 million on the table in past free agency talks, helping bring Lebron James and Chris Bosh to the team in the past. Wade now wants to be compensated for those sacrifices. Losing the face of the franchise would be a huge blow to Heat President Pat Riley, who saw Lebron James leave the team last year to return to Cleveland. Luol Deng decided to exercise his option and remain with the team. Wade is believed to talk with the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and Chicago Bulls. He will also likely talk with the Heat, who will try to keep him on the roster.
