Johnson County Disaster relief victims can go:

The recent tragedies saw several groups mobilize into action across the region. In Magoffin County the rescue squad spent a wet Tuesday night evacuating citizens who were trapped by the flood, but not they have changed their role and are gathering supplies to help those who lost everything. According to Carter Conley, who is the chief of the Magoffin county rescue squad, donations have poured in” and his department was able to deliver a truck load of much needed supplies.

There are several shelters set up around the counties for victims.

Johnson Central High School:  JCHS is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Thursday and Friday.  Those impacted by the flood are welcome to take showers at the school.  If you have any questions, you can contact the school at 789-2500 or by cell at 792-5171.

Paintsville Church of Christ: Disaster relief supplies will be available for flood victims 7/15 – 7/17 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm each day.  You can call the church at 789-6219 for more information.

Highlands Church of Christ:  Disaster relief supplies available from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.  They are accepting monetary and clothing donations only.  You can contact the church at 789-6433 or Rick Vititoe at 791-6418.

First Christian Church:  Disaster relief supplies are available and donations of clean/sorted clothing, toiletries, cleaning supplies and non-perishable foods are being accepted.  To contact the church, call 789-4480 or Ann Ratliff at 831-7102.

Encounter Missions: Encounter Pharmaceutical Assistance Ministry is available to assist with the replacement of medications lost in the disaster.  Representatives are set up at the Paintsville Recreation Center.  Please call Encounter Missions office at 264-5934.
