Thunderstorms put a damper on Eastern Kentucky University’s first preseason football practice, but Head Coach Dean Hood saw enough to be pleased.

“Going into the first practice, you wonder how much the kids worked on their own during the summer,” Hood said. “It was clear how hard these guys worked. In terms of being prepared and knowing what to do, this was more like the ninth practice than the first.”
