A controversial official and all of her deputies will be in court today

A controversial official and all of her deputies will be in court today. Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis has made national and international news for her refusal to issue marriage licenses in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision on Marriage Equality. To date she has exhausted all legal outlets, and was relying on a stay granted by Judge David Bunning which expired on Monday. After her appeal to the 6th district court of appeals fell through, Davis continued to refuse service from her office citing she was enacting “Gods Law”. If Davis is found in contempt of court she could face a large fine and prison time. The Kentucky senate president, Republican Robert Stivers, has requested that Bunning grant Davis and extended stay. We will report more information on this event as the story progresses.
