Members of the United Mine Workers are planning to rally to save their retirements. On Monday members of the UMWA will come together at the Ballard Convention Center in Madisonville to show their support for legislation passing through the House of Representatives and Senate designed to preserve retiree healthcare and pension benefits. According to UMWA International President Cecil E. Roberts these benefits were not given to the miners, they were earned by providing the energy that made this country great. Members of the UMWA are being bused in from all over the commonwealth to show their solidarity.
