The State Senate passed a bill concerning freedom of speech

The bill was sponsored by Republican Albert Robinson of London. It was created in response to an Eastern Kentucky School district adjusting a school play to make it fit into the federal guidelines. The bill is designed to expand protections of freedom of speech in school activities and assignments. Opponents of the bill question its legitimacy in the face of federal regulations. The legislation passed with only two dissenters, and will now go before the State House of Representatives.
