Low gas prices could have a serious downside

While drives across the nation are enjoying fuel prices securely below 2 dollars, officials are praying for a price increase. According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the low prices at the pumps have translated into a 33-million dollar funding shortfall. The Road fund gains most of its revenue from the bulk fuel tax, and low gas prices are undercutting their budget. Officials are bearing down for a perceived financial shortfall over the next couple of years.
