Responders in Salyersville rescued a stranded driver

Magoffin County saw heavy flooding yesterday as steady rain showers fell on melting snow. Route 7 was covered for most of the day, with flood waters reaching 2 feet deep. Officials diverted drives to other streets, but several tried their luck on the flooded roadway. One drivers luck ran out and her car stalled in the middle of the torrent. According to officials, the driver exited the vehicle and tried to walk to safety. It took the local fire department 30 minutes to pull the driver to safety.
