A Johnson Co voter was turned away at the polls

Last Saturday Johnson Co Republican Party held their caucus in which had a pretty good turn out, as almost 2,000 people showed up. More than expected. Not everyone got to vote though, as Janet Hughes’ name wasn’t in the books, so she was turned away at the polls, and unable to cast a vote. Where a caucus isn’t the same as a primary, you must have been registered Republican before December 31rst of last year, Hughes says she did everything she was supposed to in order to vote, and she still wasn’t in the books, according to an article from WYMT, Hughes said “ I was disenfranchised, Obviously the Republican party doesn’t think it’s important what I think about who I want to be President.” The caucus held last Saturday was the first one since the 80’s.
