Beginning Monday, June 20, traffic will be halted from time to time on US 23 at Ivel in Floyd County as part of the rockfall mitigation project currently under way on top of the mountain adjacent to the highway. The periodic interruption in traffic flow could remain in effect during daylight hours for several weeks, according to Darold Slone, Engineering Branch Manager for Highway District 12.
