Undercover Drug Investigation Leads to Arrests in Floyd County

On August 3 at approximately 3:00pm, Prestonsburg City Police officers along with the Kentucky State Police executed narcotics warrants of ten drug dealers in the Floyd County area. These drug investigations were initiated in the city of Prestonsburg and expanded into outlying areas. During these drug investigations the following drugs were purchased: cocaine, methamphetamine, hydrocodone, and suboxone. There were multiple drug purchases made from each suspect.

Prestonsburg K-9 Unit was also dispatched to assist in the search for illegal substances, which included the communities of Auxier, David, and areas near Magoffin. Lieutenant George Tussey said the investigation had been ongoing for three months.

All of the suspects will be processed and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center. Some of these arrests are directly related to complaints that were relayed by concerned citizens of the community.The Prestonsburg Police Department would like to urge anyone with information on drug activity to call them at (606) 886-1010.
