Bevin proclaims August 7- 13 as ‘Kentucky Forensic Science Week’

Gov. Matt Bevin has proclaimed Aug. 7-13 as “Kentucky Forensic Science Week” to recognize the importance of forensic science in law enforcement and the hard work of staff at the state crime lab. In conjunction with the governor’s proclamation, the Kentucky State Police Central Lab will host an Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10 and Thursday, Aug. 11. Lab personnel will provide tours to local and state officials, staffers and to any public interested in participating.   Forensic Science Week provides an opportunity for public officials and the entire community to learn more about the inner workings of a crime lab and the vital role it plays in our criminal justice system.
