Laurel County Jailer Jamie Mosley told WYMT he stopped a group of clown dressed teenagers from scaring drivers. Mosley was picking up his daughter around 6 pm Wednesday when he noticed a commotion in the middle of the road involving angry drivers and a group of teens, one fully dressed in a clown costume. Mosley engaged the group, got boy’s name, and took his mask. With the high profile of creepy clown sightings in the region, the jailer believes the teenagers were out to deliberately scare people. While he has been criticized on social media for “taking a person’s property,” Mosley said he was trying to stop “a present danger on behalf of the community acting out against two young men.”
