Prestonsburg Mayor Les Stapleton was named an honorary President’s Ambassador for Big Sandy Community and Technical College during the Mountain Arts Center’s 20^th anniversary gala on Thursday, October 20. Stapleton was presented a medallion and awarded by BSCTC President Dr. Devin Stephenson during the program portion of the gala. Stephenson said the mayor “is a man of integrity. His passion for the city of Prestonsburg and eastern Kentucky is unwavering, and we are proud to work with him and city leaders to improve the quality of life people living and visiting Prestonsburg.” Stapleton said the recognition was a surprise and called Dr. Stephenson “a personal friend” and a “true friend to the people of Prestonsburg and eastern Kentucky as a whole.”
