With many across the Commonwealth heading out tonight to trick or treat, the Kentucky State Police have offered some tips to ensure everyone has a safe and happy Halloween. For motorists, be sure to slow down and stay alert for increased pedestrian and bicycle traffic, including children crossing streets. Parents and caregivers should make sure trick or treaters are visible with light colored costumes, carry flashlights or glow sticks, and are accompanied by an adult. And for trick or treaters, be cautious of strangers, watch for traffic before crossing the street, and be sure not eat candy until getting home so it can be examined by an adult.
