Repair work continues on KY 40 at the railroad underpass in Paintsville. Beginning tonight at 11pm, this section of KY 40 will be closed to all traffic until 5am December 8. All traffic will be required to use an alternative route, according to Mike Blevins, Highway District 12 Engineering Tech. Alternate routes with normal traffic flow are KY 581 and KY 1107. Blevins apologized for the temporary inconvenience and asked motorists to please slow down in this work zone. There have been several close calls through the work zone with motorists speeding through. Motorists are asked to use caution through this area so that everyone is safe.
