Attorney General Andy Beshear released a set of resources to support Kentucky’s law enforcement community in investigating and prosecuting the results of sexual assault forensic exam kits. The tool kit includes resources for law enforcement on managing sexual assault kits; pre-planning investigations while kits are being tested; reviewing DNA results once kits are returned; preparing for pre-victim notifications; and notifying and interviewing victims. Beshear said his office is hopeful the recommended guidelines will aid in victim-centered investigations.
